Apple has recently been in a lot of trouble for its battery fiasco. Geekbench proved that Apple had been slowing its older models of iPhones with the software updates to which Apple replied that the main reason behind such action was the natural degrading of phone batteries. Apple claims that since batteries tend to lose their efficiency over time, they had to throttle processor speeds to prevent phone shut down.
As if this controversy was not enough, recent reports have come of two iPhone batteries exploding in last two days. Both the incidents took place in Apple stores - one in Valencia, Spain and the other one in Zurich, Switzerland. The accident in Switzerland was even more worse as the employee suffered minor burns and in total seven people were affected by the event.
The battery explosions could surely be related to Apple's recent drop in price of battery replacement service from the usual 79$ to 29$. This has lead to an increase in number of battery replacement orders and the service centers have become immensely busy. This may have caused an indirect effect on the employees' efficiency or these may be just chance events.
